PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Dramatic surveillance video released by police shows a man suspected of shooting into a Churchland home Wednesday night.

Just before 11:30 p.m., dispatchers received several 911 calls for reported shots heard in the area of Brandon Square near Picadilly Lane and Darby Close. As officers responded, dispatchers got another call from a home in the 5600 block of Picadilly Lane, saying a home had been hit by gunfire.

No one inside the home at the time was hurt.

An unknown suspect was caught on surveillance video walking toward a home before stopping and raising his arm. You can hear several shots fired, then see the suspect running away from the area.

A resident in the area tells 10 On Your Side he went outside to walk his dog when he saw several police cars. Detectives are hoping that they can identify the man in the security footage.

If you recognize the person in this surveillance, call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
