Shoplifting suspect pepper sprays store employee

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Police say a woman accused of shoplifting from the Virginia Beach JCPenney pepper sprayed an employee who tried to stop her.

The incident happened on Friday, October 21 around 4:45 p.m. at the store on Lynnhaven Parkway.

Police released surveillance images of the suspect. She is described as 25 to 30 years old, approximately 200 pounds, with long, braided hair and was wearing eyeglasses. She was last seen running to the mall parking lot after reportedly pepper spraying the loss prevention officer.
