Police: Woman stole items from store, pepper sprayed employee

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Police are looking for a woman they say stole merchandise from a store and then pepper sprayed an employee.

At about 4:45 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21, the women entered the JC Penney’s store located at 701 Lynnhaven Parkway, hid items and left the store without paying. Loss prevention tried to stop the woman. She then pepper sprayed the associate and was last seen running to the mall parking lot.

Police described the woman as being between 25 and 30-years-old, about 200 pounds with long, braided hair. She was last seen wearing a red shirt, black and white horizontally striped pants, red shoes and black eyeglasses.
