Housing assistance center open Tuesday for Va. Beach residents

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The City of Virginia Beach says its housing assistance center will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday.

The center is set up at the Municipal Center, Building 21, 2408 Courthouse Drive.

The Department of Housing and Neighborhood Preservation (DHNP) is following up with Waypoint at Lynnhaven apartment residents who are staying in hotels.

DHNP is also reaching out to residents who are currently using hotel vouchers from the city. You can call the department at 757-385-5750 to learn more about your housing situation if you haven’t received a timely call.

If you’re without stable housing because of Hurricane Matthew are encouraged to go to the housing assistance center or call DHNP.
