Over the phone Monday, Dail told WAVY News he opened up shop when he was 30-years-old. A few weeks ago, he said he celebrated his 90th birthday. When asked about how he felt about the milestone, Dail said there’s a time and a season for everything, and now is the time to close.

Another employee said this is a painful time for everyone.

Over the past couple months, they’ve been transferring merchandise to another store in Franklin, which is owned by Dail’s son. Dail says he’s retiring and there’s no one to take over the store on Portsmouth Boulevard.
