UPDATE: Missing James City County girl found safe

JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — James City County police say they have located a girl missing for more than a day.

Rayleigh Bunker, 17, was found safe around 5 p.m. Friday at a home on Centerville Road in James City County.

Police say Bunker is on medication for mental health and did not have her medication with her.

Bunker left Lafayette High School around 12:30 p.m. Thursday in a white Kia Soul, according to police. The car was found early Friday morning at the Newport News City Park Visitors Center on Jefferson Avenue.

James City County Police were working with other local law enforcement agencies to locate Bunker. Stephanie Williams with the police department told WAVY.com they focused the search in Newport News City Park.
