Man, woman injured in Hampton shooting

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — A man and woman were shot Monday afternoon in Hampton.

Dispatchers received a call around 3:40 p.m. reporting shots heard in the area of the 100 block of Haverford Court. As officers headed to the scene, the call was upgraded to a shooting.

Responding officers found two 21-year-old victims, a man and woman, both suffering from single gunshot wounds. One of the victims’ injury was originally considered life-threatening. The other victim was expected to be OK.

Police in a Tuesday news release that both the man and the woman were taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Police say they do not have any suspect information at this time, and the motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting are still being investigated.
