SENECA, SC (WSPA) – A man has been found guilty on all charges after setting his wife on fire.

The assault in May of 2014 left his wife with third-degree burns over 70% of her body.

She spent nearly 18 months in a burn center.

Jacob Drotning was found guilty of attempted murder, domestic violence, arson and malicious injury.

The jury deliberated 3 hours.

The Independent Mail says he victim testified their marriage was rocky and she told Drotning that she wanted to leave.

The defense argued that he was trying to start a grill and the fire was accidental.

A man that shared a cell with Drotning testified that Drotning said he had drank a lot of vodka before trying to kill his wife.
