VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Lynnhaven Parkway between Albright Drive and Dalrymple Street will be shut down this weekend for construction.
The full road closure will start at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, through 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23.
The work will not be done if weather doesn’t cooperate. A rain date has been set up for 7 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, until 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30.
Crews are installing a fire hydrant as part of the Lynnhaven Parkway Widening Project.
Work on the widening project began in March 2014. The project is designed to add an extra lane in each direction and a bridge at the canal between Centerville Turnpike and Indian River Road to create a connection between Chesapeake and Virginia Beach.
