Newport News police: Armed men rob three victims, steal their car

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Police are looking for suspects wanted in connection to a robbery and vehicle theft.

At 10:15 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Roam Court for a reported robbery. When police arrived on scene, they spoke with three victims, who said they were robbed and had their car stolen.

The victim in the driver seat said she pulled into a parking space and an unknown man knocked on her window, asking for spare change. The man then showed a handgun and demanded money. At the same time, a second man approached the passenger side front window. He had a gun, too, and ordered the front seat passenger to get out of the car. The other victims also got out and put their belongings on the ground. The suspects rummaged through their belongings, throwing everything out of the car except for credit cards.

The men then stole the victim’s vehicle, a 2011 Ford Focus, and fled the scene. They were last seen traveling southbound on Marshall Avenue.

No one was injured. Police could not provide a suspect description.

Authorities are still investigating.
