PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – The golf world lost a legend last month when Arnold Palmer passed away at age 87. “The King” of golf left his mark here in Hampton Roads by helping design The Signature at West Neck and the course at Bay Creek in Cape Charles.
In the design process and at grand openings, Palmer made several trips to this area and many golf fans here in Hampton Roads got to meet him on his visits.
Nathan Mitchum and Jim Hughes were both front and center when Palmer made his visits to The Signature at West Neck. They sat down to share their stories.
We remember “The King” in this week’s Reck on the Road.
