GLOUCESTER COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — A man and woman were arrested after authorities say drugs were found in their Gloucester home.

At about 4 p.m. on Monday, October 10, the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office and the Tri-Rivers Drug Task Force served a search warrant at a residence in the 8500 block of Guinea Road in Hayes. There, they found 5.7 grams of heroin (valued on the street at $1,140), assorted pills and $545 in cash.

The sheriff’s office says 37-year-old John E. Bays and 32-year-old Deanna L. Hall lived in the home. They were taken into custody.

Bays is charged with possession with intent to distribute. Hall was arrested on an outstanding capias and will eventually be indicted.

Authorities say the pair may face more charges in connection to earlier narcotics purchases.
