Man considered armed and dangerous arrested in Hampton shooting

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Hampton police detectives have arrested man in connection with a shooting that left one person injured over the weekend.

Police say they received a call around 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, for a walk-in gunshot victim at Sentara Careplex. A 21-year-old Newport Newsman was treated for a single gunshot wound.

Steven Davon Holiday, 25, was wanted on charges of maiming, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, shooting into an occupied vehicle and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Police say an investigation found that the victim was sitting in his car on Kecoughtan Road when Holiday went up to the car, pulled out a gun and fired one shot, which hit the victim. Holiday then reportedly fled the scene.

Holiday was considered armed and dangerous. He was taken into custody early Tuesday morning and is currently being held at Hampton City Jail.
