Coast Guard medevacs man from boat off Oregon Inlet

NAGS HEAD, N.C. (WAVY) – Coast Guard crews medevaced a man from a charter boat 44 miles off the Oregon Inlet, Sunday.

According to Coast Guard officials, Station Oregon Inlet received the emergency call at 11:30 a.m. The call was about someone on the boat suffering from memory loss.

A Coast Guard crew, along with local EMS personnel, arrived on the scene around 1 p.m.

EMS personnel went onto the boat while the Coast Guard escorted it back to Station Oregon Inlet.

The man was then taken to Outer Banks Hospital for evaluation.
