After a month away, Hampton Pirates return home on Saturday

HAMPTON (WAVY) — It will be homecoming for the Hampton University football team this weekend, and that’s something coach Connell Maynor and his team must love. When the Pirates host Morgan State, it will be their first home game in a month.

Morgan State in undefeated in conference play while Hampton comes in with a 2-1 MEAC record with its only loss coming to preseason favorite North Carolina A&T. This is Maynor’s third season as Hampton head coach, and with five conference games remaining, he says his team is in a good place.

“We are 2-1, if we get a win this week we are 3-1, one game out of first place,” Maynor said. “We need some help from some other teams that are undefeated and we can help ourselves by beating an undefeated team this week.”

Kickoff is 2:00 at Armstrong Stadium.
