NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — 10 On Your Side uncovered documents Thursday that say a Navy officer relieved of duty earlier this year was under investigation for sexual harassment.

Back in August, an enlisted sailor filed a complaint against Captain Anthony Simmons, saying he harassed her at the Wild Wing Cafe in Chesapeake.

During questioning, the papers say Simmons downplayed or lied about things he did at the bar.

The investigator says evidence does not support the claim of sexual harassment, nor does it require the Navy to kick him out.

Simmons was the former commander of Destroyer Squadron 2. The Navy has since reassigned him.
