Nearly 3,000 customers lost power in Portsmouth Wednesday

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Power was knocked out to nearly 3,000 Dominion Virginia Power customers in Portsmouth Wednesday morning.

City Hall was among the buildings that lost power.

Bonita Billingsley Harris, the company’s spokeswoman, told 10 On Your Side the outage was caused by a failed piece of equipment. She said at 11:30 a.m., power was restored to everyone.
