City council approves rezoning Virginia Beach church building for an Aldi

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — City council approved a measure Tuesday to bring an Aldi to the Hilltop area of Virginia Beach.

Council approved rezoning the Hilltop Community Church building for the grocery store.

The vote passed 6-2. Three council members who abstained.

Neighbors said they didn’t want the grocery store because it would be along a busy stretch of First Colonial Road.
