NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Organizers from Black Lives Matter 757 held a discussion Thursday night about racial injustice and reproductive rights.
The public forum was held at Virginia Wesleyan College.
Four panelists discussed how they can take the next step towards equality in the community. They also went over how to respectfully disagree in the face of controversy.
“I can’t sit up here and say, ‘Because you agree with abortion, you’re a horrible person.’ You have your own walk of life. I have my own walk of life,” said I can’t force my beliefs on you, as you can’t on me.”
Virginia Wesleyan students, faculty and Portsmouth Mayor Kenny Wright were all in attendance.
