VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – A four-vehicle accident near Cox High School caused delays for students trying to get home Thursday.

Dispatchers said the call came in at 1:46 p.m. on North Great Neck Road at Shorehaven Drive and Dey Cove Drive near the high school. They say there were injuries and one person was transported with non-life-threatening.

Heather Allen with Virginia Beach Public Schools tells 10 On Your Side that the accident caused the buses to leave 20 to 25 minutes late from Cox High School to take students home. A notification was sent out to parents of high school, middle school and elementary school students to let them know about the delay.
