Two drivers hurt after cars collide in Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – Hampton firefighters and police officers responded to a two car crash that left two people hurt Sunday morning.

They received multiple calls about a crash in the 1800 block of Todds Lane and Winchester Drive just after 6:20 a.m. When officers arrived on scene they found two cars involved in a crash, a 2009 Toyota Camry and a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix.

A photo sent from a 10 On Your Side viewer shows one car overturned, and the other with its hood and front bumper partially torn off.

Hampton Fire-Rescue extricated the adult male driver of the overturned Pontiac. Both drivers were taken to nearby hospitals to be treated. Police say one driver suffered non-life threatening injuries and the other driver suffered life threatening injuries.

Police determined the Pontiac was travelling westbound on Todds Lane and the Toyota was traveling eastbound when the two vehicles collided with one another.

The crash remains under investigation by members of the Hampton Police Division’s Accident Reconstruction Team.
