Car crashes into Family Dollar in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Portsmouth police are investigating after a 2000 Chrysler sedan crashed into the Family Dollar store in the 4200 block of Greenwood Drive Sunday morning.

Dispatch received the call just after 11:00 a.m. When police and fire arrived they found a car that went into the front of the store.

Portsmouth Fire Chief Mike Stockton says no one was hurt and there was no significant structural damage to the building.

The Family Dollar store is closed at this time. No word as to when it will reopen.
