NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Norfolk police are investigating three shootings early Sunday morning, one that put a man in the hospital in critical condition.
The shootings happened in three locations across the city in fewer than four and a half hours.
Around 5:20 a.m., dispatchers took multiple calls about gunshots and a man lying in the road on Hale Street, near Five Points. Officers responded and found a man with a gunshot wound. He is in critical condition at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, according to a spokesperson for the Norfolk Police Department.
Around 2 a.m., dispatchers confirm officers found a gunshot victim on Vernon Drive, in the Diggs Town section of the city. The victim was taken to the hospital, but is expected to survive.
About an hour earlier, officers responded to a shooting on Bowden’s Ferry Road, near 27th Street. Dispatchers confirm they found a gunshot victim, but could not say what condition he or she is in.
Detectives have not released suspect information in any of these cases.
