ERT weekly construction schedule for September 23-30

HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WAVY) – The following is Elizabeth River Tunnels weekly schedule for tunnel/lane closures that may affect regular traffic in Hampton Roads. Due to the nature of construction, closure dates are subject to change. Visit the Travel Impacts page for current information.

Downtown Tunnel

  • I-264 West: Downtown Tunnel open with a single lane closure Friday and Saturday, Sept. 23 and 24 from 8 p.m. each night until 8 a.m. the following morning.
  • I-264 East: Downtown Tunnel open with a single lane closure Sunday, Sept. 25 from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
  • I-264 West: Berkeley Bridge alternating lane closures Thursday and Friday, Sept. 29 and 30 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. each day.

Midtown Tunnel

  • U.S. 58 East: Full weekend tunnel closure from Friday, Sept. 23 at 8 p.m. through Monday, Sept. 26 at 5 a.m.
  • Brambleton Avenue/ U.S. 58 West: Full ramp closure Monday, Sept. 26 from 9 p.m. until 12 a.m. midnight.
  • U.S. 58 East: Full weekend tunnel closure from Friday, Sept. 30 at 8 p.m. through Monday, Oct. 3 at 5 a.m.

MLK Freeway

  • London Boulevard East/ U.S. 58: Full ramp closure from Friday, Sept. 23 at 7 p.m. through Monday, Sept. 26 at 5 a.m. This ramp will also be closed nightly Monday through Friday, Sept. 26-30 from 7 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • U.S. 58/ London Boulevard East: Full ramp closure Monday through Thursday, Sept. 26-29 from 7 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • High Street: Full closure between Constitution Avenue and Confederate Avenue Saturday, Sept. 24 at 5 a.m. through 8 p.m. and then Monday through Friday, Sept. 26-30 from 7 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • I-264 East: Lane closures between Frederick Boulevard and Des Moines Avenue Sunday through Friday, Sept. 25-30 from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning
  • I-264 West: Lane closures between Effingham Street and Portsmouth Boulevard Sunday through Friday, Sept. 25-30 from 8 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. the following morning.
