(WAVY) – Former Phoebus High School running back Marshawn Williams has had a tough road up in Blacksburg. He suffered two devastating injuries during his first two years at Virginia Tech, but is back at full speed this year.
Nicknamed Juice, Williams rushed for 81 yards in the Hokies blowout win over Boston College, his first game in two years.
“It’s to a point where you came to college to go to school and play football and when one of those are taken away it’s kind of hard to keep it all together,” Williams said. “There were low points and high points but that is with anything. Rehab was hard, it was really hard, but I got through it and just blessed to be able to still play.”
