Teen charged in Grassfield High student’s murder to be tried as an adult

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — An 18-year-old charged with the murder of a Grassfield High School student will be tried as an adult.

Jacquan Leeonte’ Wilson, of the 800 block of Harbour North Drive in Chesapeake, is charged with first-degree murder, robbery and use of firearm in commission of a felony in connection to the shooting death of 18-year-old Bryant Austin Cueto.

Cueto was shot and killed on May 1 in the parking lot of an Applebee’s restaurant on General Booth Boulevard.

Wilson was a juvenile at the time of the shooting, but is now 18. The Office of the Virginia Beach Commonwealth’s Attorney says Wilson’s case has been certified to the circuit court, where he will be tried as an adult for the charges against him.

Wilson has a bond hearing tentatively set for October 6. His trial is planned for October 25.

A second suspect in the shooting, Andarion McInnis, is facing murder and robbery charges. His trial is tentatively set for October 31.
