VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Police likely will not charge a driver who hit and killed a man early Sunday morning on General Booth Boulevard.
The driver of a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee was going eastbound on General Booth Boulevard when a man stepped into the street near South Birdneck Road and got hit by the vehicle, according to a spokesperson for the Virginia Beach Police Department.
He was pronounced dead at the scene after paramedics arrived just before 4:00 a.m. The driver stayed on the scene, and investigators say there are no pending charges.
The case is still under investigation by the department’s fatal crash team.
