Norfolk Police play non-stop soccer to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – The Norfolk Police Department took to the soccer field to celebrate Hispanic Heritage month on Sunday.

The event was held at Tarrallton Elementary School on Tarrallton Drive, allowing friends and family to play soccer with Norfolk Police.

“We’re still trying to bridge that gap between the hispanic community and the police department. What we’re trying to do is to let them know that we’re here to help them,” said Officer Juvenal Valdez of Norfolk Police.

The Norfolk Police Department has had several different soccer tournaments since 2005.
