HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WAVY) – The Wounded Warrior Project Soldier Ride has passed through Hampton Roads in the past two days.

Before the ride, each warrior was fitted with equipment to make the ride as comfortable as possible. Additionally, Soldier Ride participants will enjoyed team-building exercises, a tour of the USS Wisconsin, Topgolf, and other physical fitness training in Norfolk on Thursday.

The two-day, 34-mile ride around Virginia Beach on Friday, and a 21-mile ride around Williamsburg on Saturday encouraged the spirit of unity these warriors enjoyed during their military service. Many warriors find Soldier Ride to be an unforgettable experience that serves as a pathway to their new normal.

Participants had  the opportunity to learn about other free, life-saving programs and services available to wounded veterans, their caregivers, and their families.

More information on Soldier Ride is available at soldierride.org.
