Suspect wanted after report of indecent exposure in Elizabeth City

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WAVY) – Police are looking for a suspect after a report of a possible indecent exposure at the Food Lion in the 1300 block of North Road Street on Saturday afternoon.

According to police, while in route to this scene, officers located a red in color vehicle matching the suspect vehicle description on N. Road St. at Hughes Blvd. Officers were able to get behind this vehicle, a 2003 Acura bearing North Carolina registration, on W. Broad St. at N. Road St.

The vehicle failed to stop after officers initiated emergency lights and siren. The vehicle traveled about 3 blocks and failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of North Road Street at Cypress Street. The suspect vehicle then collided with a 2012 Honda Accorda.

The driver of the suspect vehicle then fled the area on foot. The driver of the 2012 Honda was transported to Sentara Albemarle Medical Center VIA EMS with minor injuries.

The suspect is described as a black male, stocky build approx. 5’10”, last seen on foot in the area of Queen Street towards Walnut Street This case is currently still under investigation.
