HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WAVY) — Police in three cities are investigating overnight armed robberies at three different 7-Eleven convenience stores.

The first happened around 1:00 a.m. Friday at the store on Warwick Boulevard near the Village Square Shopping Center in Newport News. A police spokesman told WAVY.com a man armed with a handgun barged into the store. He robbed a customer and a store clerk. Witnesses say he ran out of the store and towards Warwick Boulevard.

In Norfolk, dispatchers say someone robbed the 7-Eleven on Chesapeake Boulevard and Cromwell Road. It happened around 3 a.m.  Two suspects were involved, one had a gun. It happened just a few minutes before the Portsmouth robbery, but the two robberies were more than ten miles apart. Norfolk police say they are still looking at surveillance video and have no suspect information so far. There were no injuries reported, and the suspect got away with cash.

Just after 3 a.m., Portsmouth police say two suspects robbed the 7-Eleven on Airline Boulevard at Greenwood Drive. Portsmouth police say two suspects came in with guns, and demanded money from the clerk. Surveillance video shows one suspect was wearing black pants, a blue and white striped long sleeve hoodie, and a mask. The other was wearing dark colored jeans, a gray shirt, and a black hat with a red bandanna.
