Investigators tracked down Williams at a hotel in Chesapeake the day after the shooting.

Prosecutors say Williams stole a gun and used it to kill Parker, who was his girlfriend at the time.

Eric Korslund, Williams’ attorney, said Thursday, “Ms. Parker was his girlfriend for a very long time. He feels extremely horrible about the entire situation.”

Williams will be sentenced on December 16.
