Suspect uses fraudulent check at Wal-Mart Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – Police are looking for a suspect in a check fraud case that happened at a Wal-Mart on August 5.

Police say the suspect created a fraudulent check to purchase $400 worth of electronics. The fraudulent check was created using the stolen identity of a York County resident.

The suspect is being described as white and was wearing a dark shirt, light shorts, and a white hat at the time of the crime.

This suspect may have passed additional fraudulent checks elsewhere in Virginia, according to police.
