Thousands come to Oceanfront for Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Thousands of runners from around the country came to the Oceanfront for The Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon.

The race started at 7 a.m. at the Virginia Beach Convention Center on 19th Street, going 13.1 miles and ending at the boardwalk.

Saturday’s races were canceled because of Tropical Storm Hermine. Though the center of Hermine was well offshore, strong winds stretch out far from the storm’s center making for a challenging race.
