PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – New season, new co-host, new reasons to watch The Hampton Roads Show! WAVY-TV 10 is proud to announce the return of Kerri Furey as the regular daily co-host of The Hampton Roads Show. Kerri joins co-host Chris Reckling on the lifestyle show beginning Monday, September 12.
We are delighted to welcome Kerri Furey back to The Hampton Roads Show,” said WAVY-TV President and General Manager Doug Davis. “Kerri was such a big part of our launch of the show over six years ago, and her positive energy and commitment to Hampton Roads make this an exciting next chapter for the show and its loyal viewers.”
Furey joined WAVY-TV 10 in 1997 as a reporter and soon earned herself a seat in the anchor chair beside WAVY News 10 Today’s Don Roberts. For twelve years she and Don delivered the highest rated morning news, every day! Kerri added another role to her powerful repertoire, stepping into the role of co-host on Hampton Roads’ first local lifestyle show, The Hampton Roads Show, in 2010. After taking a few years away from the cameras to spend more time with her family, Kerri is back in a fun and familiar role showcasing the very best of the area she has called home for nearly twenty years.
I think it will be pretty obvious to viewers I am beyond excited to be back on The Hampton Roads Show and once again on the roster at WAVY-TV 10,” said Furey. Everything about coming back to this role, at this time, makes sense and I just appreciate the support of my family, friends and coworkers as we begin a new chapter.”
Executive Producer Stephanie Cooke is looking forward to a fresh start for the lifestyle show, when the staff launches a new season with their “new” co-host.
“The entire staff of The Hampton Roads Show is so happy to welcome Kerri back to the show,” said Cooke. “Her departure from WAVY and the show almost four years ago was something I respected as a working mom. I’m so glad we were able to find a way to have her back on the show in a way that still allows her to put her family first.”
