Ocracoke Island reopens to visitors Sunday

OCRACOKE, N.C. (WAVY) — Ocracoke Island reopened to visitors on Sunday.

The Hyde County Board of Commissioners ordered a mandatory evacuation for people visiting the island on Thursday ahead of Tropical Storm Hermine.

Ferry routes resumed normal activities Sunday morning, including the Hatteras/Ocracoke, Swan Quarter/Ocracoke and the Cedar Island/Ocracoke Ferry runs.
