Tides use eight-run first inning to beat Charlotte 9-5

NORFOLK (WAVY) – An announced crowd of 13,902 fans decided to catch the last Saturday night game at Harbor Park this baseball season, and the second-largest crowd in the stadium’s history their money’s worth.

Corban Joseph, who’s on assignment with the Tides from the Baltimore Orioles, drove in two runs, going 3-for-4 at the plate, and led the Tides to a 9-5 win over the Charlotte Knights. The Tides went through the entire batting order, and scored eight runs in the first inning to take a 8-0 lead before Charlotte knew what was happening.

Norfolk has one more home game left this season. First pitch is schedule for Sunday night at 6:05.
