National Park Service celebrates 100th birthday with free admission

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (WAVY/KXRM) — Thursday marks the 100th birthday of the National Park Service.

In celebration of the centennial birthday, you can visit national parks for free!

Entrance fees will be waived at all national parks Thursday, Aug. 25, through Sunday, Aug. 28, for the celebration.

The Hampton Roads and Tidewater region is home to Colonial National Historical Park — which features Cape Henry Memorial, Historic Jamestowne and the Yorktown Battlefield — as well as Fort Monroe National Monument.
