Four suspects in homicide cases arrested in Hampton Roads this week

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Four suspects wanted in separate homicide cases were arrested in Hampton Roads this week, according to the U.S. Marshals Norfolk Division.

Two of the arrests were connected to shootings that happened in Norfolk since last weekend.

Malcolm Robinson was arrested Monday for the shooting death of 43-year-old George Ellison. Norfolk police say he is currently facing charges of murder and use of firearm in commission of a felony.

U.S. Marshals and Norfolk detectives arrested Grenah Garnett for allegedly shooting and killing 50 year-old Andre E. Valentine on Avenue H. Garnett has been charged with second-degree murder, according to Norfolk police.

Authorities say one of the suspects — 31-year-old Antowaun Mathis — was detained in Hampton Wednesday for a murder case out of Illinois. Mathis allegedly shot and killed a man back in June.

Winston Bernard Black Jr., a 34-year-old man from Portsmouth, was arrested in Chesapeake for the shooting death of a man at a Motel 6 in Henrico County in mid-June.

Authorities say Black is facing attempted  first-degree murder for his role in shooting.

He is currently being held at Chesapeake City Jail awaiting extradition to Henrico.
