Police chase suspected stolen car thief overnight in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Virginia Beach police say they have at least one person in custody following an overnight chase.

State police say it all started just after 1:00 a.m. Tuesday on Interstate 264.

Troopers tried to pull over a driver with a reported stolen vehicle, but investigators say the driver did not stop and exited onto N. Great Neck Road.

The driver went north on Great Neck.

State Police got assistance from Virginia Beach police who were in the area.

The pursuit ended at the intersection of N. Great Neck Road and Shore Drive. Police say they arrested the suspect.

No one was hurt. Police have not said who the suspect is or what charges they’re facing.
