Hampton courthouses cleared after bomb threat causes second evacuation

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Hampton courthouse buildings were evacuated for the second time in the past four days due to a bomb threat.

Hampton Police tell WAVY.com three buildings were evacuated due to the threat, which was called in at 8:18 a.m. Tuesday — General District Courthouse, Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court and the Circuit Court.

Police officers cleared the area after finding no suspicious devices.

This evacuation comes four days after a bomb threat was made. An all clear was given Friday after police swept the area around the courthouse.

Police say a criminal investigation is underway regarding this latest alleged threat.
