VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The Virginia Beach City Manager is apologizing to a police officer.

Dave Hansen says he made an on the spot correction when he came upon an intersection that was closed for construction.

Hansen told the officer to open the lane for traffic.

The officer told his supervisor that he felt Hansen berated him. The officer said Hansen told him if he couldn’t do his job, then he would find someone else who could.
