NSU police hosting launch of campaign to deter underage drinking

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk State University Police are hosting the launch of the 2016 Virginia Buzzkill, an awareness campaign to deter underage drinking.

VA Buzzkill is a joint law enforcement agency initiative that also seeks to educate people on the consequences of providing alcohol to underage people.

Law enforcement personnel from NSU, Christopher Newport University, Hampton University and Tidewater Community College will hold anew conference on Sept. 2 in advance of college football and tailgating season.

Norfolk State University Police Chief Troy Covington stated, “We as law enforcement professionals want our students to be safe, so we are providing them with the right information so they can make good decisions.”
