Newport News man accused of stabbing another man in the back

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Police arrested a Newport News man for allegedly stabbing another man in the back.

At about 11:05 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, officers were dispatched to the 15900 block of Warwick Boulevard for a reported stabbing. When police arrived on scene, they found a 36-year-old York County man with multiple stab wounds to his back. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Officers on scene talked to a man and woman and asked if they knew who stabbed the victim. Police got a possible suspect name of 32-year-old Scott Dudley.

Police say the stabbing happened when the victim and his friend returned from a bar. When they entered a room, Dudley began stabbing the victim, according to police. Officers found Dudley walking on Warwick Boulevard.

Dudley was arrested and charged with malicious wounding.
