Chesapeake police arrest suspect in Deep Creek double shooting

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Police have arrested a suspect in connection to a double shooting that left two people injured in the Deep Creek area of Chesapeake.

18-year-old Theodorus Hanley, of the 1100 block of Sunlight Drive, is charged with two counts of malicious wounding and two counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

At about 3:34 a.m. on Monday, August 8, officers responded to the intersection of Millhouse Lane and Sagen Arch for a report of a shooting. When police arrived on scene, they learned that two people had been shot. They had already been taken to the hospital before officers got there.

Police say the two victims were both 18-year-old men. Authorities have not said anything about their conditions.
