Police seek suspect in connection to series of Hampton burglaries

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Hampton Police are looking for help to identify a suspect in three business burglaries.

Between August 6 and August 7, three businesses on West Mercury Boulevard and West Pembroke Avenue were burglarized. Police say investigation revealed that after business hours, the suspect forced his way into the businesses through a door and stole cash and other items.

It happened at Direct Auto Insurance, Springfield Financial and Extra Storage Space.

Police described the suspect as a black male believed to be in his late teens to early 20s, about 5 feet 6 inches tall with a slim build. He was seen on surveillance video wearing a dark blue hat with “NY” on it in white, a long-sleeved black shirt, black pants and red or black gloves with a dark bandana around his face.

The suspect is believed to have been involved in two other business burglaries in Norfolk during the same time frame.
