ROANOKE ISLAND, N.C. (WAVY) — Gov. Pat McCrory joined local leaders to celebrate the newly renovated North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island.
The Governor stopped by to check out the upgraded exhibits on Roanoke Island. All of the upgrades cost $6.5 million.
McCrory says the aquarium is one of the top reasons tourists visit the island.
New exhibits include exploring historic shipwrecks and a re-creation of a Civil War gunship.
