Dare County deputy saves man from heroin overdose

DARE COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) — A Dare County Sheriff’s Office deputy on Thursday saved a man from a heroin overdose.

The deputy was dispatched to Wanchese, North Carolina for call about an unconscious. He found a 28-year-old man unresponsive from a possible heroin overdose.

The deputy administered naloxone, and the man started to come around after a couple of minutes.

EMS crews helped stabilize the man before transporting him Outer Banks Hospital.
