Virginia Beach pitcher stymies Tides at Harbor Park

NORFOLK (WAVY) — The Columbus Clippers got an outstanding start from Shawn Morimando in the their 9-2 win over the Tides on Wednesday.

Morimando (2-1), who attended Ocean Lakes High School in Virginia Beach, scattered five hits over 6.2 shutout innings to help the Clippers snap Norfolk’s three-game winning streak.

The 23-year-old was drafted by Cleveland in the 19th round of the 2011 draft.
