Norfolk’s Matt Coleman helps USA U-18 team win gold medal

CHILE (WAVY) – Matt Coleman’s college recruiting stock has risen a little higher. The Norfolk native is headed back home with gold medal around his neck after helping Team USA beat Canada 99-84 in the FIBA Americas U-18 Championship game.

Coleman, who played at Maury High School in Norfolk and now plays for Oak Hill Academy, grabbed a team-high nine rebounds, scored seven points, dished out four assists and had two steals to help in the win.

Coleman is one of the top point guard prospects in the country, and has received offers from a number of big-name Division I programs.
